About This Blog

My Blog

I'd like to make one thing abundantly clear: this blog is subjective, not objective. This is my personal diary, so to speak, of movies that I see. I'm not trying to be objective what-so-ever. If I was trying to be objective, then Foxcatcher would be at the top of my list for the best movies of 2014, but I'm not and it's not. Foxcatcher is impeccably made and acted all around, but I found it positively boring. I go to the movies to be entertained. I like movies that I can watch over and over again and still be entertained, and I'm certain I will never see Foxcatcher ever again.

I don't even really think I have great insight into the movies I see, but one thing is for certain: I'm a film lover who watches a lot of film. I honestly do this blog for my own enjoyment. I don't think I'm spreading amazing movie knowledge to others. Some "reviews" are better than others. On some I really think about what I'm about to write and take a little bit of time, but others I write within a few minutes. If there's one thing that people could take away from this blog, it's recommendations of movies to watch. Since I watch so many films, maybe I could enlighten someone about a great movie that they haven't even heard of.

My Ratings

I used to have a rating scale of 1-5, but I didn't like that one bit. So, I've changed it to Loved ItLiked It, or Didn't Like It. Simple, right? Essentially, Loved It means that I'm dying to watch this film again. Liked It means that it was good and well made and entertaining, but it didn't leave too much of a lasting impression. And, obviously, Didn't Like It flat-out means that I didn't like it and I probably won't watch the movie again unless I'm forced into it.

Bottom Line: I'M A MOVIE LOVER, NOT A CRITIC
